Fire Dance by Delle Jacobs

Melisande has only one goal, to save her people. But that means marriage to the king's handsome knight, Alain de Crency, and certain death for her. For if he doesn't kill her, his priests will. Written by multiple time RITA Award winner Dell Jacobs.

Ordered by the king, Alain DeCrency must take the castle belonging to the evil sorcerer Fyren, kill him, and wed his daughter. No questions asked. Expecting a battle, he brings an army for which it turns out he has no need for. Instead of resistance, they find the castle's defenses dismantled, Fyren dead and his promised bride gone. The castle and everything in it is handed over to him without a fight. This includes the servants, knights, and the secrets at the foundation of the building.
