Something Was Missing by Charlie A. Dillard

Declan, an American born Irish kid from the Old Colony Projects in South Boston, has spent his life running the streets. At a young age his mother was put in jail because of the actions of his father: Whom he doesn’t talk to because of it. So he ends up having to take care of his grandmother. One day when exiting the Redline he sees the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. But his friends don't like her because she is Black. In it Declan has to commit to an intense fight within himself with how he will go forward with his desire to find out more about the unassuming young lady he met on the Redline; and how he will deal with the intolerance his friends have for the whole situation. While also trying to change a few things within himself, to become a better man and help make life more satisfying for the rest of his family.
